HAPPY TRAILS PEDIATRICS

DPC is a membership-based model of providing comprehensive, personal and relational medical care that focuses on the importance of trust, respect, and collaboration within the doctor-patient relationship. By cutting out the middleman, we are able to focus on quality over quantity and practice medicine in a way that is convenient, flexible and accessible for your family. Our goal is that it feels like you have a doctor in the family that is another advocate for your child.

Yes! Kids don’t give you a warning before they get sick and you don’t want to wait days for care for your sick child. With Happy Trails, you can rest assured that your child can be seen the same/next day when sick or possibly via virtual visit.
-
Kids are most comfortable in their own home, which allows me to build a more trusting relationship with your child. With in-home visits, I am able to take environmental and social factors into account and make a more comprehensive and personalized treatment plan for your child. Plus, it’s fun to do show-and-tell and see your child’s personality come to life.
Having trouble with getting your infant to sleep? We can physically walk through your routine in their environment and troubleshoot together.
Teenager having difficulty remembering to take medication? We can gameplan together in their space.
No one taught you the practical things like baby proofing, swaddling, or putting your infant in a car seat? We can do this together.

No problem! We have an office space that we use when needed located at 9501 N Capital of Texas Hwy, Suite 4200.

I don’t believe that families should be punished with higher costs and more visit charges because their child happens to have a mental health condition or chronic illness that is out of their control. Mental health care visits for ADHD, anxiety, depression are all included in your regular membership. Mental health is extremely important to me and this simply cannot be addressed in a 15 minute visit, like in a traditional fee-for-service office. These visits are typically scheduled for 30 minutes to an hour and sometimes longer for initial evaluations.
-
No problem! My goal is to meet you wherever you are and support you in any way you choose to feed your infant. We provide support for all forms of feeding including chestfeeding, pumped breastmilk, bottle feeding,
This journey is different for everyone and often changes/evolves over time and I’m here to help guide you through all those transitions.
What’s most important is a happy and healthy infant AND parent, however we can achieve that together.

We will give ample notice of any planned time away from the office and will work with our local network of physicians to provide quality care in our absence. Just like parenting, we can’t plan for everything, but we will work with you to get you the care your child needs during any unplanned absence for personal or family illness.
-
Continuity of care and developing long-term relationships are important to us and is why we don’t offer one-time sick or wellness visits. We do offer one-time services such as lactation consultation, telemedicine consultation, medical ear piercing, and educational classes.

One of the most important things I do as a pediatrician is preventative medicine and one of the best tools is vaccination. I strongly recommend children remain up-to-date with immunizations based on the AAP/CDC schedule backed by extensive research. I am always happy to answer questions and help you to feel comfortable and confident in all the care your child is receiving.

In order to provide a high level of care and personal attention that is not valued by insurance companies, Happy Trails Pediatrics does not contract with or bill your insurance company. With a monthly membership fee, you know your costs upfront and can plan accordingly. Our membership is all inclusive, so no surprise bills and ultimate transparency. Your visits are unlimited so you don’t have to worry about copays and visit charges piling up.
-
Yes! You can use your insurance benefits for vaccines, labs, imaging, prescriptions and specialist referrals. You still need traditional insurance for bigger expenses like emergency room visits or hospitalizations (although the goal is to keep these to a minimum with more comprehensive preventative care).
-
I’m so glad your child is healthy and my goal is to partner with you to keep it that way! Most of what we do as pediatricians is prevention and education and with longer appointment times you will get unrushed, face-to-face time with me. We will have plenty of time to discuss feeding, sleep training, nutrition, exercise, academics, and behavioral challenges where you can feel heard and respected.

At first glance, it may seem that the expense is too high and is difficult to see the benefit when we are used to the broken, insurance-based healthcare system. DPC membership can be a great option for families who are uninsured/underinsured, on high deductible plans or those that are part of health shares.
Transparency in our fixed pricing allows you to plan for your families healthcare needs ahead of time without having to worry about surprise bills, deductibles, copays, coinsurance or added charges such as form completion and after hours fees.
Due to our proactive, comprehensive care model, we are able to detect problems before or when they first present themselves and determine a treatment plan to help keep your child out of more expensive options llike urgent care, the emergency room and the hospital.
